SUMMARY:

The Director of Product Management is responsible for executing product lifecycle management from launch through product sunset, including leading and participating in the identification, development, launch, and ongoing management of product offerings. Additionally, the Director is responsible for mix management (managing product line profitability and optimizing the proactive mix of the product portfolio), product growth, product enhancement, as well as penetration across geographies and channels.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Be the key driver on the executive team for the development and execution of the vision for products in alignment with overall Product Management vision for our organization
  • Lead the implementation of the go-to-market strategy, including pricing, promotions and distribution for all products and offerings
  • Strong customer focus and ability to understand the consumer needs; demonstrated success in working with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Work closely with engineering on product conception and manufacturing processes in collaboration with Sandstone leadership team
  • Lead and execute innovation for our organization around product management ensuring the right product is offered in the right form for the right market targets
  • Leverage Standard-Modifiable-Custom as a key growth initiative and positioning/promoting this as a key differentiator against competitors
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external partners as well as influencing and collaborating across organizational boundaries
  • Knowledge of launching products (internally and externally); demonstrated understanding of the product development life-cycle processes and methodologies
  • Ability to balance strategy and operations
  • Skilled in process management, attention to detail, as well as problem solving
  • Collaborate with engineering, sales, and customer service on the identification of new product offerings through market analysis and research
  • Partner with engineering on the identification of new product requirements, ensuring usability and accessibility for our customers
  • Continually analyzing overall competitor and market conditions and adjusting product management strategy accordingly
  • Identify and execute on deliverables along the entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
  • Ensure appropriate product and revenue mix for solutions through financial ROI analysis that feeds organizational revenue forecasts and goals
  • Ensure high level end-user expertise become an expert in the products, understanding why and how customers use the solutions or products
  • Partnering with finance & operations for the aggressive management of the revenue and profitability of each product
  • Responsible for anticipating disruptive changes in the market that impact products and leading the design of strategies to respond/react to them

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Significant experience with distribution channels desired. Possess leadership skills, creative problem solving and product management focus is desired.

Proficient with all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access) are desired. Experience with an ERP system, CRM and information systems (Halo and JDE) relevant to sales.

  

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

A four-year college degree in Marketing or related field is desired. Five to ten years pf P&L responsibility in B2B product business experience is necessary. Experience with B2C is a plus.

Background of working in the FoodService industry, Manufacturing in some capacity is desired.

 LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, and savvy in office politics. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret customer specifications, general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and other employees of the organization.
